Topshop Lip Crayon in Secret Party | Review | English Rose

Hello,
I am not an overall buyer of new products so I was a bit shocked when I picked this up. I was currently in London's Topshop (which is massive) when this caught my eye. One thing I always do is look endlessly at there make up but never buy it. I see it as expensive. I know that they are about the same as drugstore make up but I never purchase anything. Why? I don't know.
This is Topshops Lip Crayon in the colour 'Secret Party'. My first thoughts were 'wow'. I thought it was a really bright, in your face red/pink. I tend to go for pale pinks and light colours so this was a bit of a 'should I, or shouldn't I' item. Don't get me wrong I thought this was a really nice shade and literally die when others pull it off. Most people wear bright colours with confident but I was a bit like 'no, I will look like a clown' before hand. I came over that and thought 'why not give it a go'. Then there I was with my little bag and out of the shop off to Harrods. Here is my review.

This particular Lip Crayon is available from Topshop for £6.
(camera is finally working btw)

As soon as I got back home I tried it straight away. It took a while to get use to because it was a really bold choice. I wouldn't wear this during the day because it is a tiny bit OTT but for night, BAMM. After I applied it I noticed the colour had a tiny bit of a hint of glitter. I loved the fact that it did and it really made it. The colour literally was so bright for so long. This stayed on for about 3 hours at least without any adjustments. It is really long lasting and worth the £6. The colour was so pretty and girly. It had a real party theme to it and just popped. I would keep eye make up simple when wearing this because bold, smoky eyes  and in your face red lips will over cast your face and you will look like a clown.

This is what the colour looked like on my arm. It is not  great piece of photography but basically it is this colour with hints of silver glitters. If you are looking for a lipstick that will work with everything and isn't red. This is a really great alternative to a red lipstick. It will look great in the summer because it is a really pretty, bright colour that will draw people to you.

What really made me buy this was the fact that it was a crayon. I was craving to try one so I thought this could be a nice taster. Honestly when my friend mentioned that they do lip crayons I just thought of my childhood. Endless hours of just pretty colouring. I thought that a crayon would have no moisture and would just be rock hard.
This is what the end of the crayon looks like. I have to disagree with my expectations because I think this is really moisturising product. It was just like a lipstick and delivered a smooth, soft feel. I felt my lips were not dry and were nice and .... I cant describe it but you know when you rub your lips together when you have lipstick on and it is really nice, that!
One down thing about this is that I have only used it about 3 times and I can see the little stick getting smaller. You cannot sharpen this so before long this will be run out. It wont last as long as other lipsticks but with the high shine, bold, long lasting colour. Maybe it is worthwhile.

This is what is on the back of the lipstick. I tried to find ingredients but could not find any as such. I don't think people can be allergic to lipsticks so I wasn't sure whether or not I should list them. I couldn't find then so this is all that is on it. This says here that it was made in Germany. So unless you are allergic to Germany this will be greeeaatt for you.
I personally love it and have got the Topshop makeup bug and is eager to try out more products. I cannot compare this to other Lip crayons so this may turn out to be totally rubbish. I think it is really nice and worth the money. I would buy it again with no hesitation. I defiantly recommend this. I would like to add that these opinions are completely my own and you might really hate this.

Thank you,
Lucy xx
